The new BMW iX4: Sportiness meets expressive design.

Extrovert, unmistakable and fully electric, the BMW iX4 is the third Neue Klasse model from BMW, with a distinct and expressive interpretation of the new design language. Its coupé-style silhouette, striking light signature and enhanced standard equipment package highlight its sportiness, with a range of up to 828 kilometres1. Inside, the cockpit focuses purely on the driver.

At market launch in March 2027, customers will be able to choose between two drives. Joining the lineup shortly after will be the top-of-the-range BMW iX4 M60 xDrive2, delivering 450 kW/612hp.

Standout design meets driving fun in the BMW iX4 – along with all the versatility needed for everyday use.

Dynamism meets versatility.

With its long wheelbase, short overhangs and elegant flowing roofline, the new BMW iX4 offers plenty of space for occupants and luggage. It blends the versatility and spaciousness of an SUV with a distinctly sporty presence.

Following the BMW iX3 and the BMW i3, the BMW iX4 is now the third model in BMW’s Neue Klasse family. It shares the same crisp, reduced design language, but reinterprets it for an SUV coupé. More expressive, more dynamic, more precise lines.

Mike Reichelt, Head of Neue Klasse, BMW Compact and Midsize Class, says:

“With the new fully electric BMW iX4, we are expanding the Neue Klasse portfolio with a particularly emotional vehicle. Its striking proportions, elegant coupé silhouette and Neue Klasse technologies combine to create a truly distinctive character. Blending sportiness, expressive design and innovative technology, the BMW iX4 sets a bold new accent within our fully electric BMW portfolio.”

The BMW iX4 front end – and how to recognise the top model.

On the front of the BMW iX4, the BMW kidney grille and twin headlights merge to form a single graphic element, a symbiosis of light and geometry.

The top-of-the-range BMW iX4 M60 xDrive additionally features the new motorsport-inspired M Yellow Lights, which take their cue from GT racers and the BMW M Hybrid V8. In Germany, they can only be used in conjunction with the low beams and immediately identify the vehicle as an M Performance model.

BMW iX4 models all come with the M Sport package as standard. This includes 20-inch M light-alloy wheels and blue-painted callipers. For customers who want more, the M60 xDrive offers 21-inch wheels and red M sport brakes – and even 22-inch alloy wheels, if desired.

Sporty silhouette, unmistakable rear.

The proportions and dynamic roofline also define the side view of the BMW iX4. Its elegant look is further underpinned by a consistently aerodynamic design, which achieves a drag coefficient of just 0.23.

The generous panorama roof comes as standard and creates a striking visual highlight. Extending across the entire roofline, it is made from specially engineered glass that helps maintain comfortable interior temperatures. Thanks to its concealed seals, the glass melds seamlessly with the car body, allowing light to flood in, without compromising the sporty lines of the vehicle exterior.

The rear of the BMW iX4 makes a distinctive statement, with slim, horizontal lights that offer a fresh take on BMW’s signature L-shaped taillights. A prominent spoiler improves aerodynamics and increases the range. In the BMW iX4 M60 xDrive, it features a special M design.

Oliver Heilmer, Head of Design BMW Compact Class, Neue Klasse and BMW M, explains:

“The BMW iX4 embodies Neue Klasse design in the form of a razor-sharp SUV coupé. Striking proportions, a flowing roofline and distinctive light signatures lend it an unmistakable character. The driver-oriented cabin combines sporting appeal, advanced technology and generous levels of space. It is more expressive, more dynamic and more BMW than ever.”

Sporty line, spacious feel.

The BMW iX4 combines a coupé-style roofline with generous headroom for rear-seat passengers. Thanks to the Neue Klasse architecture, which was developed purely for electromobility, the interior is spacious. The long wheelbase increases legroom front and rear.

The interior is crafted from high-quality materials, with three interior designs and seven upholstery variants for customers to choose from. These range from Veganza to BMW Individual, which pairs Veganza trim with Merino leather seat surfaces.

Key information at a glance, without distraction.

Besides its spaciousness and materials, the cockpit embodies BMW’s hallmark driver-focused philosophy: the BMW Panoramic iDrive with Operating System X combines the BMW Panoramic Vision, optional 3D Head-Up Display, 17.9-inch Central Display and Sports steering wheel into a single unit. It offers a clear overview of relevant driving information, which drivers can see without taking their eyes off the road. Its My Modes, such as Sport, Efficient and Silent, tailor the sound, light, displays and drive to the moment – for more driving pleasure, more range or more relaxed driving.

The top-of-the-range BMW iX4 M60 xDrive is complemented by a dedicated M Sport steering wheel with shift paddles and a red marker at 12 o’clock. It also features electrically adjustable M Sport seats with integrated massage function as standard.

Everyday versatility, electric range, M Performance: The right BMW iX4 for every need.

Technologically, the BMW iX4 builds on the same foundation as the other Neue Klasse models: sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology with an 800V architecture, cylindrical battery cells and bidirectional charging. At market launch in March 2027, it will offer a choice of two drives: the BMW iX4 40 xDrive3, offering 275 kW/374 hp and a range of up to 638 kilometres1, and the BMW iX4 50 xDrive4, delivering 345 kW/469 hp and a range of up to 828 kilometres1. The top-of-the-range BMW iX4 M60 xDrive2 will be available shortly after, offering 450 kW/612 hp and up to 777 kilometres of range1, and sprinting from 0–100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

The BMW iX4’s display and interaction system and driver assistance also build on ground-breaking technologies from the Neue Klasse, while its distinctive SUV coupé form makes it a design highlight in the vehicle portfolio.
