BMW Group Stakeholder Dialogues 2025
New York City.

During New York Climate Week, the BMW Group hosted a stakeholder dialogue on September 23, 2025, bringing together participants from academia, politics, industry, civil society, and the media.

At Bathouse Studios in Manhattan, we discussed key levers for decarbonization in the automotive sector. The focus was on reducing CO2 emissions in the supply chain, the circular economy as an approach to lowering emissions, and the importance of technological openness for achieving an effective global transformation.

In workshop sessions and a joint panel discussion, different perspectives, expectations, and requirements for companies such as the BMW Group were explored.

The valuable feedback generated during the dialogue will be incorporated into the ongoing development of the BMW Group’s sustainability strategy and will support the further implementation of its sustainability targets.

Among others, the following participants contributed to the discussion:

  • Shari Freedman – Managing Director, Climate & Sustainability, Eurasia Group
  • Max Frankel – Executive Director, Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition Institute (SEEC)
  • Antoine Vagneur Jones – Head of Trade and Supply Chains, BloombergNEF
  • Vishal Agrawal – Professor of Operations Management and Information Management, Georgetown University
