Ladies’ Night in Berlin.

The BMW Group strengthens its innovative and competitive capabilities through diversity.

How is this goal realised in concrete terms?

June 2018. A diverse workforce is an essential factor in our success. We value our employees’ uniqueness and regard their different profiles and backgrounds as an important condition for productivity and innovation. It is for this reason the BMW Group adopts a holistic approach to promoting individual diversity.

The advancement of women is also a priority for us. Our goal is to recruit highly-qualified women, develop them and keep them with the company. As part of this, we hold regular events, organised “by women, for women”, to promote networking and have a positive impact on women’s careers.

Every year, the BMW Motorrad plant in Berlin and the Berlin Partner of Economics and Technology GmbH host “Ladies’ Night”, a networking evening for female managers from Berlin businesses, politics and the local community. Among the roughly 100 guests at the third event, held in June 2018 at the BMW plant in Spandau, was Minister of State for Digitisation Dorothee Bär (CSU). In a panel discussion on the topic of courage, she talked about the boldest decisions of her political career. After the discussion, attendees had ample opportunity for networking and sharing experiences.

We firmly believe that networking opportunities like these can encourage women and help their careers. Such events also contribute to the BMW Group’s goal of diversity.
