There it is: The BMW iX3. At the Auto China 2018 in Beijing the BMW Group unveils its first electrically powered Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) in the history of the company.
The Auto China 2018 is set for the big reveal of the first electrically powered Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) in the history of the company: the BMW Concept iX3. The landmark vehicle represents the BMW Group's next huge step towards leadership in the electric vehicles business.
Visually the iX3 takes its cues from the BMW i Vision Dynamics, with a sealed kidney-grille with blue surround, aerodynamic alloy wheels and futuristic paintwork in Moonstone Silver matt.
The BMW iX3 is powered by a fifth-generation powertrain that is lighter, more compact and more powerful than what has gone before. The electric motor delivers over 200 kW (270 hp), and the battery pack has a net capacity of over 70 kWh. Together they deliver a range of over 400 kilometres. The powertrain, which will form the basis of the BMW iNext, is making its debut in the iX3.
The forthcoming series version of the BMW Concept iX3 will be made in Shenyang, China, by the joint venture BMW Brilliance Automotive.
