Concepts and visions.
For years, the BMW Group has developed unique prototypes to bring innovations visually to life and showcase past, present and future design. They also provide the public with a glimpse of upcoming products and topics the BMW Group is working on. In this area, we differentiate between vision vehicles, concept cars and hommage cars.
Vision vehicles.
As the name suggests, vision vehicles offer a glimpse of the future of mobility. We use them to visualise innovations, issues and experiences we are working on. We don’t just focus purely on the vehicle's exterior or interior; the whole user experience is re-imagined to engage all the senses, using both analogue and digital approaches.
Concept vehicles.
Concept cars are used for pre communication of production vehicles. The design is slightly exaggerated to draw public attention to specific topics.
Hommage vehicles.
Hommage cars honour our icons of the past. Historic vehicles with their defining characteristics are interpreted in a modern way.
