Urban mobility with a pure electric drive train has been available in signature MINI style since 2019 in the MINI Cooper SE – combining sustainable mobility with characteristic MINI driving fun, expressive design and premium quality to ensure the British brand’s first fully-electric model delivers pure MINI feeling with locally emission-free driving.

The first electrified MINI in series production.

The first series-production electrified MINI.

Launched in June 2017, the MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 is the British premium brand's new pioneer for efficient, sustainable mobility. The first series-production MINI plug-in hybrid also offers the option of pure electric mobility for locally emission-free driving.

MINI goes electric.

In 2008, 612 MINI E cars were modified, largely by hand, and, from 2009 on, road-tested by private and business customers. The BMW Group wanted to see how an average driver would cope with the unique aspects of an electric car in everyday situations. Between 2009 and 2013, the cars clocked up more than 16 million kilometres in six countries on three continents, contributing to basic research.
