After completing their training course, tool mechanics are qualified to produce and maintain tools and systems. Your duties may include the production, assembly and repair of cutting, forming, injection moulding and foaming tools, of equipment, gauges and templates as well as measuring and testing tools for the metal-working and synthetic materials processing industry.
The products are made and repaired using manual methods (filing, sawing, touching up and polishing) and mechanical methods (drilling, turning, milling, grinding and eroding) with high precision and surface quality according to drawing or CAD data. Working with PC, high precision measuring equipment and CNC-controlled machines is a requirement to achieve maximum quality.
This work may be completed by one-off production individually or in a team with due consideration of the relevant specifications and safety regulations. New technologies and changing individual components continue to pose new challenges.
