This person is an expert for one-off and small series assembly. This job extends from the production to the commissioning and subsequent maintenance of technical systems. Semi-finished products as well as finished and standard parts are mainly used; he will make other parts himself. For this purpose the mechanical engineering technician must be able to read, interpret and implement operating instructions, technical drawings, work instructions, work plans and measurement protocols.
This wide range of equipment reflects the wide range of fields in which this person can be asked to work. The mechanical engineering technician will gain good knowledge and skills for metalworking. Qualifications such as manual and mechanical cutting, forming and connecting will be practised and learned intensively during this course along with personal skills such as working alone, a readiness to accept responsibility and cooperation skills.
This person will be able to learn about various topics such as control systems (pneumatics, hydraulics, electropneumatics and electrohydraulics), assembling and dismantling machines or constructing supply systems with the help of specialists. For computer-aided CNC machines and system he will also produce the production programs or adjust existing programs.

- Good grades in physics, an interest in mechanical and system engineering
