The body repair and paint apprentice will be trained up to understand all the quality issues within the work area ensure the quality of the product leaving the area of responsibility. Specializing in motor vehicle body and paint technology, the training will ensure the understanding the manufacturing processes involved and route cause analysis of possible defects in either the body or the paint finish.
The paint process is very complicated and the course will involve the study of paint and its chemistry, paint shop processes and the equipment used.
The apprentice will also be trained in all aspects of body repair including straightening, panel repair and welding skills. To accomplish all of these you will be attending college to achieve a Advanced Modern Apprenticeship which consists of NVQ2/NVQ3 in production engineering covering a broad spectrum of processes including assembly operations, quality and statistical process control and problem resolution for vehicle manufacture. This knowledge is under pinned by a BTEC National Certificate Vehicle repair.

Requirements.
- You will enjoy a rapidly changing environment where quality and volume considerations are paramount
- An interest in a technical subject and the ability to work under pressure would be an advantage
- You will need to be self-motivated, present a self-confident appearance and communicate well. Some language skill would also be preferable
- Minimum of 3 GCSE's at grade C or equivalent. Maths/English/Science
