Industrial mechanics are qualified in keeping machines and systems running and returning them to operation as a result of their training. Their tasks may include inspecting, servicing and repairing machines and systems and adjusting operating systems to changing conditions.
They remove and fit parts and modules in maintenance conditions, identify errors, rectify faults and restart the machines and systems after function tests. This work requires a high level of care and the skill to identify worn parts and to conduct or organise suitable repair work taking all the technical and commercial aspects into account. Hydraulics and welding are important parts of the course.
We also offer this course with a support programme to supplement training.

Requirements.
- Good grades in mathematics and physics
- An interest in the latest machines and systems, in metalworking and in manual and machine work
- Flexibility, stamina, organisational talents, dexterity, the ability to work in a team, reliability and precise working practice
- Good understanding of the structure and function of technical equipment
- Qualifizierter Hauptschulabschluss, mittlere Reife (Werk Berlin: Qualifizierter Hauptschulabschluss, mittlere Reife oder Abitur)
