The Institute for Mobility Research is a research facility of the BMW Group. It focuses primarily on the future developments within the field of mobility. Automotive mobility is just one facet of research. Social sciences, politics, economics, ecological and cultural studies all play important roles in dealing with the scientific questions and challenges of the future.
The work of the institute is supported by a group of interdisciplinary specialists, and representatives of Deutsche Bahn (the German national railway) and Lufthansa.
