The engine production facility at Hams Hall, near Birmingham plays a crucial role in the international production network as the centre of competence for production of all four-cylinder petrol engines for both BMW and MINI.
Over one-and-a-half million engines have been built at Hams Hall since series production commenced in 2001. The engines exemplify the BMW Group's Efficient Dynamics strategy of introducing the latest technological innovations to further improve both performance and fuel consumption while also reducing CO2 emissions.
The plant currently employs just over 660 people.
