Scientific Award of the BMW Group - "Passion for Innovation".
One of the ways we have demonstrated our commitment and involvement in education, science and universities is the Scientific Award which has been offered worldwide. This international research award for graduates and young scientists has supported pioneering ideas and outstanding talent throughout the world. In keeping with the award’s multidisciplinary approach, outstanding dissertations submitted for diplomas, masters degrees and doctorates have been accepted in all fields of study. The total prize money available was 70,000 euros, which has been awarded to a total of 51 prize-winners in a two-year cycle since 1991.
Under the motto “Passion for Innovation”, over 240 university graduates and young scientists from 25 countries and 22 academic disciplines entered the competition in 2007. The prize-giving ceremony for the Scientific Award was held on December 6th 2007 at the Deutsches Museum in Munich.
As part of the strategic reorientation of our company, we are currently clustering and reorganising our activities in the academic field. We have therefore decided to discontinue the Scientific Award in its current form.
It remains our stated goal to make attractive offers in the areas of education, science and university study so as to reach important groups of young academics through new initiatives.
